Reporter: I heard you almost couldn't make it for the run this morning..Joel: Yes, i set the wrong alarm and woke up close to 7am this morning. Had to rush out and cab down to Esplanade to make it for the second flag off. Luckily the taxi driver drove very fast when he knew that i was rushing for the flag off and got me to place in time.
Reporter: So how do you find the running route of this event?
Joel: We ran from the floating platform to the F1 pit building and Singapore Flyer before turning into Nicoll Highway and Kallang area. From there we made a turn back to the floating platform once again and ended the race there.
Reporter: Nike specially set up 4 stages along the running route this year, playing music and encouraging the runner. Did you enjoy it?
Joel: The music was good and it was creative to think up of 4 different stages with different themes. I think the organisers put in alot of effort at each stage such that even the people on stage are dressed in the theme. But it is also a bit of a waste since we just run past each stage and don't even get to listen to one full song. In a way, it was kind of meaningless placing those stage too.

Reporter: The finisher item is quite different this time round too..
Joel: This is my first time participating in these kind of runs so i'm not too sure what the finisher gets. But this time the toy of the 4 different themes are quite special i guess. I don't really like the one i got though.
Reporter: Did you go for the carnival after the run?
Joel: I did walk around the carnival after the run. There were fruits station, drinks stations, merchandise stations and a massage station. I was rather surprise seeing the massage station, but too bad the queue was so long i really couldn't wait there for my turn.
Reporter: Overall, did you enjoy your sunday morning here at the Nike Run?
Joel: As i said, this is my first time so i didn't really know what to expect. But i had a good run and i thought the experience was good. It would have been better if i had a bunch of friends running with me. But at least i've friends running and we get to eat breakfast after that, so i've got no complains.
